ISA TanTec in Action to Reinforce Sustainability Commitment

ISA TanTec, an eco-friendly leading leather manufacturer represented by the LITE (Low Impact To
the Environment) trademark, announced that its latest tannery, TransAsia TanTec (TTL), has been
confirmed by LWG as a gold-rated tannery.
Being the second ISA tannery in Vietnam and the fourth worldwide, TTL was fully constructed in
adherence to ISA’s LITE concepts. While TTL has achieved an LWG gold rating, the tannery is
continuing to invest in sustainable projects including a Photo Voltaic Solar system for in-housea
electricity generation. ISA TanTec is pleased to welcome such a noteworthy result from TTL,
considering a short space of time since its establishment, followed by the ramp-up in very difficult
times.
Additionally, three executives from ISA TanTec have been appointed to industry leading trade
associations in support of sustainability initiatives for the hide and leather industries.
Recent appointments include Keith Hill, ISA Vice President Sustainable Business Development,
joined the Leather and Hide Council of America as a board director in support of American leather
development in both domestic and international markets; Reiner Hengstmann, ISA Vice President
Additional Materials, was invited to join the Sustainable Leather Foundation as member of the
Advisory Board; And Carl Flach, ISA Senior Director Strategies, has been confirmed by the Leather
Naturally membership as a new member of the Supervisory Council in order to keep promoting the
use of sustainable leather.
ISA TanTec now has 3 tanneries rated as LWG Gold in which 2 located in Vietnam and 1 in China,
and a LWG-sliver-rated tannery operating in the US.
With the addition of another LWG-gold-rated tannery, ISA TanTec continues its leadership as a
sustainability pioneer in the leather industry.
